Few things are more iconic of New Orleans area railroading than the street-running in the city of Gretna. The NOGC leases this stretch of ex-SP track on Fourth Street from the UP. One street closer to the river, on Third Street, was the original Texas & Pacific, later Missouri Pacific. This train originated in Gouldsboro yard, T&P's original yard in the New Orleans area. The NOGC 504 still wears its paint scheme from its days with the Qwest Corportation.
