The Union Pacific Railroad's LSF 54, known as the South Local, is backing back down to the mainline at Lincoln, Illinois on Sunday 1-21-2007.
The local is on the Havana District, a short two mile segment of a remaining Illinois Central branch that once ran between Clinton and Havana, Illinois. It has one customer, a cardboard box plant, which is served two to three times per week. The Mill Restaurant, closed for many years and in poor condition, is due to be saved as a US Rt 66 tourism point, the lead truck of 1354 is on Old US 66.
