| View from the Cherokee County side of the Neches River. A proposed dam downstream threatens to flood everything visible in the photo. The concrete bridge was constructed in 1980, replacing an earlier timber trestle first built in 1908 by state prison convicts. The location is remote and includes some of Texas' best remaining hardwood bottomlands.
