Remarks & Notes
The Alco GE gas turbine engines with a hefty 8,500 horsepower apiece were the largest locomotives ever built. Engine X-26 partnered with 26B is one of two surviving locomotives of the original 30 8,500 HP units that were built. Memorabilia from the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games is seen in the background. X-26 and 26B is on display at the Ogden, Utah Train Station. I believe 26B is the only surviving B unit left.
