The sun has both literally and figuratively set on the Ringling Brothers circus train for the final time on the road for the Blue Unit train on May 9. Enroute from Charleston, WV to Uniondale, NY, the final circus train is seen crossing the mighty Potomac River from Sheperdstown, WV into Sharpsburg, MD with a mix of NS locomotives up front as the sun sets and a full mine rises in the distance. It's been a good run Ringling Brothers and as several folks summed up on from the train - "Don't be sad or cry because it's over, smile and be happy that it happened!"
Taking a look at the same train and scene as captured by different photographers. The best way to view will be to sort by photo date so the photos are grouped together.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
