"See America First" For 87 years, the Empire Builder has brought passengers from all around the world to Northwest Montana to see the wonders of Glacier National Park and it was scenes like this that had Great Northern Railway President Louis Hill and his ad men encouraging travelers to "See America First." On a clear Tuesday evening in May, Amtrak's Empire Builder rolls west along Glacier Park's southern boundary. The railroads and motive power may have changed, but the scenery is just as spectacular as it was when the Empire Builder premiered in June 1929.
