Blue Ridge Southern train T-31 heads west back to Canton, NC after picking up cars at Norfolk Southern's Asheville Yard for delivery to on-line customers. While this train seems to have an excessive amount of power (4 SD-40-2s), they are needed because of the undulating line with steep grades. Skillful train handling is needed, and throttle settings in run 8 to get up the hills are quickly changed to dynamic brake settings to slow the train as it goes down the hills.
