Remarks & Notes

Characteristic of Rio Grande's mainline through the Rockies 17 cars of Union Pacific varnish burst out of tunnel 40 within the confines of Little Gore Canyon. Led by SD70AH 8952 and C45AH 8239, the special swims up stream while suspended high above the Colorado River on the Grande's narrow foothold carved into the mountain side. The impressive business special is on the return leg of a round trip run to Dotsero, CO.
