Having grown up in the Albany, NY area, I have vivid memories of Conrail from the 1990s. Unfortunately, I was fairly young then and had not yet started doing railroad photography. I did start shooting slides by 2000, and in the early 2000s D&H Train 169 (and counterpart 168) between Albany and Binghamton--which was usually powered by Norfolk Southern engines--sometimes afforded the chance to shoot engines still in Conrail paint. Such was the case on October 18, 2004, when PRR SD70 #2580 led 169. Here, the train is about to cross under the Brooker Hollow Road overpass in East Worcester, NY, having just met northbound counterpart 168.
