Remarks & Notes
Having grown up in the Albany, NY area, I have vivid memories of Conrail from the 1990s. Unfortunately, I was fairly young then and had not yet started doing railroad photography. I did start shooting slides by 2000, and in the early 2000s D&H Train 169 (and counterpart 168) between Albany and Binghamton--which was usually powered by Norfolk Southern engines--sometimes afforded the chance to shoot engines still in Conrail paint. Such was the case on October 18, 2004, when PRR SD70 #2580 led 169. Here, the train is about to cross under the Brooker Hollow Road overpass in East Worcester, NY, having just met northbound counterpart 168.

Some how, these locomotives have managed to last this long with the colors of their previous owners, which have since vanished into history.
