UP 844 with three E units are waiting to enter Denver Union Terminal as soon as Extra 5838 West clears the lead, on June 21, 1997. The two GP-60’s were leading the First Ladies of the World who were in town while their husbands were in a Big Eight Summit meeting which Pres. Clinton was hosting. Hillary was aboard the special made up of ski train cars headed up to Winter Park and back for the day. UP 844 was heading down the Joint Line and then up and over Tennessee Pass en route to the NRHS Convention at Salt Lake City, the last steam over that route before UP closed it two months later on August 23, 1997.
