| To run a ethanol trains across the Iowa district, CN needs a minimum of 8000 horses. So when the CN gets 3000 horse foreign unit, a 3rd unit needs to be added to get the trains over the grades between Ft. Dodge and Freeport. Lately the 5400's series units have been a kicker in these type of situations. Here U706 out of Arthur blazes thru Austinville with the 5434 helping out the cause. This power would run thru to the CSXT at Chicago for points east. |
