Remarks & Notes
Southern 401, a 2-8-0 consolidation type, and a product of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, is seen here crossing the flooded Camp Creek. As some of you may recall, it was a beautiful summer in the Midwest, with considerably lower temperatures than normal, but, it was a double edged sward, with it being a very soggy summer, as evidenced here. This is an old Illinois Central right of way, and the Camp Creek is one of the cool parts of this scenic railroad. As you can see, its not table top flat everywhere in the Midwest. Taken the 20th of September, 2015 at the Monticello Railway Museum's annual Rail Days event.
