Looking towards the former station of La Rose, eastbound tonnage slithers down the eastern slope of the Tehachapi grade in the Cache Creek narrows, following the contours of the creek's northern bank between Cameron and Warren. With the line over the Tehachapi range taxed to its limit by the early 1920s, the decision was made to increase capacity where possible, this included extending sidings and adding 'double track'. The former siding at La Rose fell victim to the double tracking through the Cache Creek narrows, completed by 1924, rendering the station redundant, swiftly followed by its removal from the timetable.
