When I began photography, the N&W, the SP, and the CP were still running Fairbanks Morse H-24-66 Trainmasters, but their territory was prohibitively beyond my range of travel. As a result, this is the closest I ever came to shooting a pair of Trainmasters – a slug cut down from a Trainmaster and a C630 on Trainmaster trucks. Although I lament never seeing the originals, this was not a terrible consolation prize.
