Remarks & Notes

Of all of the types of yard power that I have encountered over the years, the Norfolk & Western switchers at Lambert’s Point in the early 1980’s were my favorites. Taken out of road service, but not completely worn out, N&W’s ten C630’s were paired with slugs made from cut-down Fairbanks Morse H-24-66 Trainmasters. Six-axle Centuries were becoming elusive game by this point, but at Lambert’s Point it was like shooting fish in a barrel.
