Remarks & Notes
King Class locomotive 6023 KING EDWARD II awaits the next duty. The Kings were the most powerful 4-6-0 locomotives in Britain. Initially they were restricted to certain routes, London-Plymouth, London-Birmingham/Wolverhampton, London-Bristol. They were capable of hauling the heaviest of express trains without the need for banking on steep gradients.
