Remarks & Notes

A quartet of SD40-2s are in dynamic braking as they descend the east slope of Rogers Pass over Stoney Creek Trestle with an empty unit coal train. My one visit to this famous location was quite an experience, with concerns about grizzly bears (none spotted), and occasional snow squalls. But the most traumatic moment was when my camera case got away from me and started sliding down the face of the cliff. It caught on a bush, but then I had the task of retrieving it, which almost landed me over the cliff and into Stoney Creek. Probably the most harrowing event I've had doing railroad photography.
