Situated between the Lehigh Valley main line and the Lehigh River, and under the Tilghman Street bridge in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Lehigh Structural Steel was one of countless small steel fabricators around the country. Many times I saw their GE 45-tonner inside locked gates, tucked behind buildings and stacks of steel. On one June afternoon, I finally got my opportunity to record the GE, as it worked outside the fence, along the former Lehigh Valley main line.
