Wilmington & Western's SW1 #114, former Lehigh Valley, takes pause resting at the station at Greenbank. The 1940 build EMD engine led a series of excursions earlier in the day.
Take note of the semaphore signal. At some point prior to the end of World War II, it was installed on B&O's Market Street Branch and used to signal permission to proceed for trains leaving the nearby West Yard for Elsmere Junction. David Jensen, a former member, purchased and later donated the signal which, on May 6th, 2012 became operational greeting the start and stop of all trips in and out of the station!
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
