Early Conrail repaints displayed a multitude of variants, with the only constant being that they were blue with white lettering. Lettering font, full spelling of “Conrail”, can opener herald, and locations seemed to be dictated by what was available in the paint shop on the day the unit was painted. Here an NW2, formerly Lehigh Valley 182, displays one of those variants as it switches Allentown yard.
