| In the seventies DRGW UP and ATSF ran a joint UT to Kaiser Steel coal train with DRGW handing the train to UP at Provo then UP handed the train to ATSF at Barstow. From Barstow to Summit ATSF cut in helpers ahead of the caboose then at Summit the helpers were switched to behind the caboose to assist with the descent of Cajon Pass. Here the train was descending through Blue Cut. |
