Remarks & Notes
The CR 3183 West rounds the big curve near the Turkey Hill watchbox, on its way to Enola or Harrisburg, in a photo recorded on TRI-X pan film. The Enola Branch, or Atglen & Susquehanna Branch, was known for its sharp curves and intermediate cat poles, giving it an interurban railway-like milieu. The 3183 was built by EMD for the Penn Central in October, 1968. Today, you can hike or bike under the cat poles here; see accompanying map for the location of the entrance to the public parking area at 2459 River Road.
