Remarks & Notes
In most apropos weather, a Montana Rail Link “funeral train” of 17 retired and soon-to-be-scrapped locomotives prepares to leave Livingston, Montana, on May 24, 2011. The group of EMDs, mostly SD40s and GP9s, along with three SD9s and a SD45-2, are headed on one last rail journey to Schnitzer Steel in Portland, Oregon.
