Remarks & Notes

In need of locomotives for Chicago commuter service, the CNW purchased E8Bs and E9Bs from Amtrak and rebuilt the locomotives with a home-designed "Crandall" cab in the early 1970s. This unit was built as Union Pacific E8B 935B.
