Remarks & Notes
Diesels on "The Silverton": Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad locomotive #7, "Big Al", pulls recently-shopped passenger cars #331 "Trimble" and #336 "Rockwood". It is passing a ballast train behind locomotive "Hotshot #1" that is parked in the Hermosa siding. "Big Al" is an 87-ton locomotive built in 1975 for Algoma Steel in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan while Hotshot #1 is a 50-ton locomotive built in 1957. Both locomotives are "narrow cabs". Conductor George Swift is riding #7's platform.
