| A westbound CNW freight prepares to leave Altoona Yard, Altoona, WI. The train is powered by recently acquired Alco C628s. CNW bought all 30 of Norfolk & Western's C628s to alleviate a power shortage resulting from increased traffic in 1973. This image shows both the NW blue and black schemes as well as CNW's initial repainting. |
