Another sampling of a 10-day sojourn into the wilds of northern Quebec and Côté-Nord on some of North America's most disconnected rail routes... This shot required a 7-mile hike that was complimented by bear (one uneventful sighting), cougar and Lynx tracks fresh in the mud and permafrost, but well worth the effort in the end. This is Romaine River Railways first southbound loaded train on August 19, with GP9s 27 and 39 crossing the namesake Romaine River with 31 ore jennies.
