The Zephyr Returns. On Father's Day of 2015, a recreation of the famous California Zephyr traveled roundtrip from Oakland to Portola. The train consisted of four stainless steal rail cars, three of which were domes (Silver Solarium, Silver Smith, Silver Lariat, and Silver Splendor). Above, you see this special train crossing one of the classic views of the Feather River Canyon, the trestle at Rock Creek. Nothing like seeing silver passenger cars traverse the Feather River Route.
