Norfolk Southern's "Honoring First Responders" unit, SD60E number 9-1-1, and Operation Lifesaver SD40-2 number 3501 passes through Natural Tunnel near Duffield, Virginia. The tunnel was created naturally, by the flowing waters of Stock Creek, and utilized by the Southern Railway as a passageway through the mountains for access to the Southwest Virginia coal fields. The locomotives are visiting the area as guests at Natural Tunnel State Park for their third annual Railroad Day celebration Photo by Casey Thomason.
