An impressive display of power (an SD40-2, four DDA40Xs and another SD40-2) leads an eastbound Union Pacific train upgrade toward Cajon Pass on December 27th, 1978. This intermodal train has just met a Santa Fe westbound, the caboose (and brake smoke!) of which can be seen in the distance. To see the rear of this train, click HERE.
