Summer Evening at Jacumba - [Summer Solstice 2015 +7 Series] - Built as MoPac 2169, what is left of UP 669, an EMD GP38-2 sits forlornly in the yard Jacumba Station attached to a small, equally dilapidated Alco switcher.
How this unit ended up on the Desert Line is unknown at this time, but one thing seems certain - that ole number 669 is here to stay, and will probably one day, be scrapped on site.
The unit is marooned in Jacumba between track leading into Mexico and the Gorge that at this time, is completely impassible due to a derailment at Dubbers Spur, and numerous rock falls between Dubbers and Dos Cabezas.
