Interrupting the nighttime silence, coal loads silhouette an odd signal arrangement at E.E. Louisa, consisting of a C&O cantilever signal protecting the mainline, and a newer signal protecting the siding. The westbound Detroit Edison loads will soon arrive in Russell, undergo a quick recrew and servicing before continuing west on the Northern mainline.
