When the station name comes off a station and is placed on a post, that’s a clue something is about to happen — Union Pacific’s station at Strasburg, Colo. was soon closed and moved away in town to a local museum. On Feb. 27, 1980 the agent was on duty to give a roll-by to trackage-rights Rock Island 4353 West just days before the Rock Island would cease to exist.
