Remarks & Notes
Taking her first steps as a Chessie System engine, 2101 eases onto the turntable at the former Reading Company Saucon engine house. The northern will do a little test running on this Friday evening in preparation for the next day's trip to its new home rails. She would serve for two seasons of Chessie Steam Special service before being severely damaged in a Kentucky roundhouse fire. 2101 was stuffed and mounted at the B&O railroad museum, and a future fan trip favorite was sprung from the museum - C&O 614. At least 2101 did not give her life in vain.
