Durango and Silverton Mikado No. 473, dressed in colorful 1950s movie paint, takes on water at Tank Creek, Colorado, on the Silverton Branch, on August 23, 2003. The fireman fills the tender tank with clean Rocky Mountain water while the engineer “oils around” at the front of the locomotive. Soon enough, the crew will get the train underway to Silverton…
