Remarks & Notes

Making their maiden voyage on the Lake State Railway's Huron Subdivision to Alpena, Michigan, the newly-arrived Metro-East Industries/ZTR Systems-constructed GP40-3/Road Slug set of LSRC 4303 and 303 are seen along the Tawas River in Tawas City, MI at 0036 hrs on May 6. The Slug Set wears the blue/grey lightning stripe scheme that I actually adapted for the LSRC from my HO Scale Great Lakes Eastern Railroad and had previously been applied to a pair of SD40-2s. These are the first four axles to wear this adaptation of the scheme with a second slug set due to be released from MEI in the coming week, bringing the current total of the corporate scheme to 6 units. Several more locomotives are budgeted for the year and will emerge by year's end. Photo was taken while working for the LSRC and crew was fully of the pending flash. A total of 4 Alien Bees B1600 units were used with ISO 200 and 1/250 at f5.6.
