Shavrin's recess is a unique engineering object on the line Simferopol - Sevastopol at the Crimean Peninsula. It was cut into the rock of sandstone more than 130 years ago with the construction of the railway Simferopol - Balaclava by engineer Shavrin without usage machine technology - only hand tools. The length of its more than 500 meters. The maximum depth is more than 30 meters.
