Celebrating passing the 5M page-view mark here at railpictures.net with these uploades, John is pleased his photos are appreciated by those born in the new millennia, and feels very connected by way of this site and his own. He's in good health, and still active shooting (film!) trackside. He's even on Facebook, look him up. Here, the Lakes Cities, the usual flagship named train on the Erie and later EL is temporarily named The World's Fair and it makes a westbound stop at Marion, where the PAs were put on the head end (the Erie coaling tower is seen in the distance, the satellite views offer evidence of the Erie roundhouse site there). John was a passenger on this train, got off, took this shot and another of the front end (we'll find that photo hold on!) AC lives on as part of a railfan/history display and now situated on the south side of the tracks. The EL, the PA's, the Worlds Fair and semaphores are all history.
