Electrician Ben Hampson rewires the control stand of former Wisconsin Central No. 3025. The GP40 was acquired by MRL when CEECO (Coast Engine and Equipment Co.) closed in 2009. It sat indoors in Livingston until 2014 when upgrades including a running take-out 16-645 engine, a new turbo and compressor, an electric handbrake, a Hot Start auxiliary power unit, cab air conditioner, were completed in MRL's shop. The locomotive also received all new wiring and carbody repairs before being repainted and renumbered MRL 500. The 500 is assigned to Missoula for switching service.
