| Class 6E1 Series 3, E1394, built in 1972/3, is still at the yard in Durban with an uncertain future. A possible conversion / upgrade to Class 18E can be ruled out now, as the conversion programme that had run at Koedoespoort in Pretoria since 2000 came to an end earlier this year. It’s a pity that this locomotive was not one of the six Class 6E1 locomotives that were recently given a makeover by Transnet Engineering in Durban for PRASA. Staged under the Argyle Road Bridge are (from left to right) 18-402 / 18-433 / 18-424. |
