It's not a going away shot, but you're actually looking at the back end of both locomotives. B&O GP9 6604, on the left, was set up for long hood forward operation as built. By contrast, GP9 6640 was originally built for the C&O and set up to operate short hood forward. Photo taken during the Chase Gunnoe photo charter on the Potomac Eagle.
