Remarks & Notes

At one end of SP’s test train at Sacramento Shops to monitor wheel lift were 3 Krauss-Maffei hydros and at the other end were two that had been acquired from dissatisfied customer D&RGW. The locomotive sets could slowly work against each other to simulate drawbar stresses while wheels and trucks were monitored.
