Nov. 14, 1983 was a sad day for fans of Utah Railway's iconic fleet of Alco locomotives. Six RSD-4s, an RSD-5, an RSD-12, and three RSD-15s have crossed Soldier Summit for the last time, dead in tow. Of the the 11 Alco locomotives, only RSD-5 No. 306 and RSD-15 No. 401 were spared the scrapper's torch.
