Bridge at MP 95.9 - Looking down the main line of the Desert Line towards Dubbers Spur (where the cars are located) and Tunnel #5 where the line enters the gorge from the drop off point at the end of Jacumba Road.
It is noteworthy to observe that none of the bridges and trestles on the Carrizo Railway were constructed with guard rails to keep derailed wheels on the the bridge.
Additionally, none of the sidings or spurs are protected with derail devices which lead to the accident visible above at the turnout for Dubbers Spur.
Goat Canyon trestle is is seven (7) track miles away and Dos Cabazas Station (on the other end of the gorge) is 13.7 track miles eastward.
This railroad was embargoed in 2008 and there have been no trains running on this track since that time.
