After striking a over-sized truck at a crossing along US 301 in Halifax, NC, Amtrak P080 of March 9th, is seen in the recovery phase while crews work to re-rail the P42 Engine #185. The Engine (Facing South now) and the baggage car are read added to the consist.
The Story:
Earlier this day a Tractor Trailer pulling an oversized load attempted to cross the grade crossing at Halifax Road, NC. While attempting to cross the grade crossing Amtrak 80 Approached. The train struck the truck derailing the engine and baggage car. The Engine landed laying across the tracks. Thankfully, the Engineer emerged unharmed.
