On 3/6/2015, I caught the UP 6374 in the process of yarding its train (M-WTKC) in Topeka, before proceeding light to Kansas City. While the rest of the neighborhood was gearing up for the NOTO First Friday, I was just as happy to catch this image that was reminiscent of years past. For those of you keeping score, I'm looking right down the old streetcar tracks that crossed at grade here until the 1940's or so.
The train had just come off of the Golden State Route that was in the possession of the SP (or SSW) from 1980-1996, so it's quite certain that this unit rolled through here as a pure SP unit back when it was brand new in the mid-90's.
