Southern Railway SD40 #3170 rests outside the NS paint shop at sunset in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Within a few hours, it will be cranked up and running, being prepared for revenue service after having been retired and stored since 2008. It was recently rebuilt at Norfolk Southern's Juniata Shop in Altoona, PA, and repainted into its original Southern scheme at the Chattanooga diesel shop. Painting was completed on February 27, 2015.
