Remarks & Notes
Much as the WSOR has done in recent years with SD40-2s, in the early 2000s, the railroad began updating its roster with GP38-2 rebuilds. The two on this Horicon-Oshkosh turn easily show their heritage as an ex UP GP38 and ex RF&P GP40. These units had not been in service long, and yet to visit the paint shop in Horicon. Other units in the consist give an idea of the power these GP38-2s and other newer acquisitions would replace.
