Remarks & Notes
While Mt. Timpanogos plays peek-a-boo through the clouds, Union Pacific's PVSC train rambles through American Fork, Utah on Nov. 22, 1986. The Missouri Pacific (yes, MP) GP40 No. 651 was built as Western Pacific 3501 by EMD in May 1966. It was one of only three former WP GP40s on the Union Pacific roster to receive a Missouri Pacific reporting mark. After retirement on the UP on April 5, 1993, it was upgraded to a GP40-2 by Morrison Knudsen as the Kansas City Southern 4765, completed by Nov. 12, 1993.
