| Southern West Virginia street running? Sort of... Coupled onto the rear of 100 empties for the nearby Hutchinson Mine, CSX ES44AC No. 988 slices in between the downtown streets of Logan on its 5-mile trek to Rum Junction. This section of unique railroad just east of the railroad's Peach Creek Yard is the same territory Western Maryland Scenic's C&O 2-6-6-2 No. 1309 once operated. Can you envision No. 1309 leading a train of loads through this very scene, albeit 70 years ago? |
